Smart Links

Smart links

Smart links are links from other parts of firebits that you use within your rich text content, and provide you with additional functionality on top of that from normal links. You might also known this type of links as Backlinks or Internal links (but we think that smart links is a way cooler name!).

Supported types

Currently, the following links within your rich text content will be recognized as smart links:

Smart link records

Everytime that a smart link is created, a record will be created automatically. You can see where an item or note has been linked from on the linked from section from the item or note details:

Enriched context menu

The context menu for smart links is customized with useful options based on the content you are linking.

Embeds

When a smart link is inserted, you are given the option to embed it as rich content.

Alert notifications

In order to prevent dead links in your knowledge base, whenever you send to the trash can items or notes that you have linked from your document items or notes, you'll receive a notification alerting you about this.
